Jordan E. Spivack

Jordan E. Spivack: I'm a composer/lyricist who lives in Nanuet, NY, where I am a full time private piano teacher. Born in Brooklyn, NY, I started piano lessons at age 5 after my parents Sophie and Gershon discovered I had the gift of music composition. At 10 years old I studied piano and music theory (for 3 years) at Cornell University. I was a member of the rock band The Creation while in HS in Cortland, NY. After receiving a BM degree from Ithaca College, I went on to receive my MM in composition, theory and piano from Indiana U. Since then I have written many pop songs, classical, new age and jazz tunes, 2 musicals for children, and the opera: "A Better Way", with libretto by Joseph P. Lanzone. I am also the composer/lyricist of The Red Ribbon Theme Song: “Hands Across The Universe”, which has been learned and performed by over 15,000 students K–12 in New York State in the past 13 years.
